The Story
Remembrance, and a reckoning
On 10 June 1838, twenty-eight unarmed Wirrayaraay people — elders, women and children — were killed at Myall Creek Station in New South Wales. What followed was unprecedented: the colonial authorities pursued justice, and seven men were tried, convicted and hanged for the crime.
This film traces those events with care and clarity, drawing on historical record and the voices of descendants who keep the memory alive today. It is a story of loss, of courage, and of the long road toward truth-telling.
